Hi everyone, thanks for adding me,
We've just put a deposit down on our first Eriba caravan. It's a 4 berth Troll circa 1989. We're excited to be joining the club.
Forgive me, I am new to caravans, Eribas and forums.
The caravan seems to only have one electrical connection on the tow hitch, a 7 pin plug to power/operate the lights; the seller has advised that all Eribas of this age came with this set up. I'm just looking for confirmation that this is actually correct, as I understand that most other caravans of this vintage come with two 7 pin plugs. I'm happy to post this in another part of the forum if I've not got it right.
Can anybody help?
Much obliged,
Jon

Hi Jon and welcome to Eribafolk.

Firstly, are you sure that it is only a 7 pin plug because the standard for Europe sometime before the UK complied, is a single plug not disimilar to a 7 pin plug but is carrying 13 wires?

In saying that, our 99 Troll, although originally from the Netherlands, did have 2 x 7 pins as per the old British Standard. The important one which connecs the road lights and the auxiiliary one for running the fridge when towing and recharging the on board battery, if in fact your Eriba has one. I believe a battery pack was added to ours when it arrived in the UK.

So, in short, if your Eriba was a used import, then it may not have a leisure battery on board so will only need a 7 pin plug.

Our Pan Duo T was originally from the Netherlands and also had what I thought was a 7 pin plug but as Randa says was actually 13 pin.It was a combination of pins and "flats".I had it changed to a modern 13pin push and twist.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the welcome and technical advice. I've got some photos of the plug, if I can figure out how to post them I will. I've just noticed that on the sticker on the plug it says "7- auf 13-polig" which is German for "7 to 13 pin" if that means anything to anyone? Unfortunately we don't have any more information regarding its provenance.
Many thanks,
Jon
