Hello to one and all. I was a member before but trying to login was a problem for me
So I reregisted with a new email all good now
I am 72 yr old and I am seriously thinking of getting back to caravanning after an absence of 15 yrs me and my late wife and the kids were caravaners for 30+ years
First van a little alpine sprite , once we knew we were going to like caravanning we purchased a Eccles Amethyst 6 months old we had her for 25 years then my brother-in- law brought her great van , then a Bailey Ranger end bathroom , I sold the van when my wife passed away 15 yrs ago
I am looking at the ebria basically it’s the build quality i like are they still this good
And then it’s the right size for me
Can anyone advice on Dealers I live in the Northeast Tyne & Wear
I really don’t mind traveling to any dealership. There’s no rush at all if and when I buy I really want to keep it
Thank you all for your time reading this
Kind regards Phil

Hi Phil and welcome to Eribafolk. Firstly, can I say to you that you don't need to log in and log out of the forum all the time. Once you're logged in and then wish to leave the site for a while you don't need to log off. Just leave the site and go elsewhere.
After about 20 minutes of inactivity the site will realise that you are no longer viewing threads etc and do the necessary. Therefore, the next time you wish to visit you'll automatically be logged in again.

You obviously have a budget Phil so are you looking for a new Eriba or will it be a used one? The thing to remember is that if it's to be a new one then you won't find a Puck or PuckL any longer as Hymer/Eriba stopped making them in 2009/2010.

Randa thank you for the information I can go new or nearly new I think the puck is a little small . I would need a loo a shower would be nice but not a deal breaker , heating yes my car has a total towing capacity of 1675k it’s a new Toyota awd hybrid I make the comment as the all new Toyota Rav 4 towing capacity has doubled from the older Rav 4 hybrid which was 800k I think thanks again

Philip,
welcome and don't worry about getting back into the caravan way of life. My 81 year old uncle has just gone and bought another van.
I believe the nearest dealer to you to have a hands on look will be https://www.adventurelv.com/ in Penrith, about 80 miles and 2 hrs west of you. They usuallu have a good stock level of new and nearly new vans.
If you want a bathroom then a Familia 320 is he smallest van that offers this but you will need to make your bed up each night out of the dining area. If you wanted to keep your bed made up and have a seperate dining area [still with bathroom] then a Triton 430 would be the model you are looking for. Your Toyota could easily pull these vans as only the very latest Triton may be 1300kg fully loaded.
Be warned, "bathroom" is a bit of an over statement in the Eriba world. Think more of night-time toilet use with a small wash basin as being the reality. If you plan to use serviced sites then this is fine.
Having experienced vans in the past you will find Eriba's lacking in what you may think of as basics. Hot water is not standard. Electric heating is also an extra, as is a battery set-up. All these things add up and can account for very different prices on what initially appear similar vans.
My advice would be to have a day out and visit Adventure Leisure, but do not be tempted to buy until you have thought a lot and asked many questions on the forum. Learn from our mistakes.

So Phil, not quite North East but at least it's on the right side of England (east).

A long way to go I'm afraid but Dom Fox has this 320 for sale at the moment. https://www.domfox.co.uk/eriba-caravans-...a-320-gt-17995/

Your other choices will be :-

Jandi, South of Edinburgh:- http://www.eribacaravans.co.uk/
Adventure Leisure Penrith:- https://www.adventurelv.com/
Red Lion Caravans Southport.- :-https://www.rlcaravans.co.uk/
Lowdhams Nottingham.:- https://www.lowdhams.com/

Hi Phil and welcome to the Forum

As you can already see the knowledge on the site is brilliant and people are only too happy to try to help.

Colin's point about the bathrooms in Eribas is a good one. Most of us just use the bathroom as a toilet and somewhere to wash hands and face and clean your teeth.

There is also lots of debate about needing a hot water system or not. Some people are quite happy to get away with using a large kettle for hot water and using the onsite facilities for everything else. Others use their hot water system constantly and wouldn't be without it.

Also if you are buying new or nearly new don't make assumptions that your van will come with certain things you need to check it out. We bought a brand new Troll in 2016 and assumed as there were heating vents for hot air to come out of , that they would be connected. They weren't.....! t was only on a cold November night in York that we realised that nothing was coming out of the vents did we realise that the vents had no tubing going to them.

i would suggest that you contact someone like Adventure Leisure Vehicles at Tebay and arrange an appointment to go and look at their range of Eriba vans. They had a lot in last time we visited. Don't be rushed sit in them all. They are very friendly but beware Mike is a good salesman. We visited Automotive Leisure at Poole twice before we bought from them and sat in all the vans several times.

Good luck with your search
