Hello everyone,
Mike and Sue just introducing ourselves.
We had no idea these caravans existed until a few months ago when we decided to swap our teardrop van for something a little bigger. We wanted a light vintage van and started to look for a Viking Fibreline, but the search usually resulted in a complete restoration job which we did not want.
Thumbing through Gumtree one day we stumbled upon “Matilda”, a 1984 Pan Familia. We instantly fell in love with the shape of the front window, never seen anything like it. That was it, the deal was done purely on the shape of a window!
During the collection day trip home with Matilda a VW camper towing a similar Eriba waved at us, something usually reserved for owners of vintage cars and motorcycle clubs. One google search later and we found Eribafolk, so here we are.
We have used Matilda already and its proven to be perfect for us. It tows nicely behind our 1.3 Suzuki Jimny and luckily its in perfect condition, something not checked when we purchased with our heart.
Looking forward too many a trip out and the odd Eriba wave as we pass.

Hi Mike and Sue and welcome to Eribafolk What a great story and yes, most Eriba Owners will wave when they see you. The problem is that most times they're not towing theirs so it leaves you wondering if there's a problem with your rig
First lesson is "watch your head" when entering or leaving the van. "The Eriba Kiss" as it's called, can be quite painful. Best advice is to get out of the van backwards

You can now go a waltzing around the countryside in Matilda.
Welcome Sue and Mike. Hope you enjoy your Eriba as much we all seem to do.

Welcome to the world of Eribas Sue & Mike.
Your van sounds great and you will have lots of fun with it.
Randa is right in that when you are towing yours you will get instinctive flashes and waves from other owners who forget that they are not actually towing their Eriba at the time........! whenever you get on site if there is another one there it doesn't usually take long for them to wander round and have a chat. It is a rule of life that if someone turns up out of the blue and admires your Eriba it will be at its messiest inside....

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the welcome.
We did notice we got flashed and the odd horn toot when we did our first trip. Yes I did think something was wrong with the van, but all was good. So that explains it, van less Eriba owners.
I've found all the head bump zones, Sue does not need the pop up to walk around

In Northern Ireland, people nearly crash their car when they see our Pan Fam. Hope you have a great time in yours...and yes mind your heads :)
