Extra wiring discovered

Hi all. I have just noticed a socket behind the front panel near the seating. See photo inset. Looks like Eriba have set this up for a easy add on for another socket. Does anyone know if this is for 240v or 12v ???. Also what could those circular part cut outs for - are they intentional or a mistake ?

1. Wago connectors for 230v.

2. Holes partially cut out to enable extra sockets, switches etc to be fitted.

John, thank you. At last a reason why that makes sense for the 1/2 cut hole. When I spared out of the socket to run another as a mirror image on the opposite side of the window ledge I thought it was a factory mistake.

Most of the holes I make look half cut anyway, Colin

When we were away in the van earlier this month I found a single socket frame, blanking panel and unterminated mains cable hidden behind a storage shelf in the washroom.

I'm thinking of fitting a 13A socket there - could come in handy for Mrs E's tumble drier or my MIG welder.

That could have been ready for the optional 10Kw power shower.

Oh, what for say 3 x 240v sockets in a row ?? They look a bit to close for that as the face plates would clash. Could I fit a 12v socket there ? I was hoping that what it was for, so guess I have to run a cable back to the mains board in the wardrobe ?? Thanks.

Although they may look close, the holes are made to accept standard CBE or equivalent frames for electrical accessories.

One single frame, one double frame or one triple frame will fit, but not, for instance, three singles, or one single and a double.

So, to add a single 12v socket next to the existing 230v socket you will need to buy the 12v socket, together with a double frame.
