We are new here and to the Eriba scene too! Currently considering a move from our small motorhome back to caravanning and to the purchase of an Eriba Troll and getting quite excited at the thought!

Have started reading through all this amazing advice and will no doubt have many a further question as we look more into this interesting Eriba world..

Hi and welcome to the site CCds

The Troll is a great van for adventurous codgers and there is a great choice of layouts. Ours is the 540GT with the extra long multi-functional beds and we love it. You will certainly get great tips and strong opinions from the members on the Forum. Been messing with and modifying our side skirt on the drive this afternoon as soon as the torrential rain stopped.

Enjoy your search

Hi Mike

Thank you for your reply and words of wisdom.
We are currently considering a fixed bed version making occasional use of the small dining area as we usually spend so much time outside in varying weather conditions under our current canopy (don't start me on awning questions...have never seen so much advice on a forum!..) that a readily available larger table would rarely get used.

We will keep thinking and searching!

We have a 530, not fixed bed but we leave it made up and use the front dinette which is I believe bigger than the 540. Horses for courses, good luck in your search.

Hi again Judy & John
We're a bit like Julie and sometimes leave our bed up for days if we are staying on one site for a while and use the front dinette for eating & reading on..

However one of the brill things with the Eriba design is taking the dinette table outside the van into its purpose built rail above the tyre. We then spend most of out time cooking and eating outside under the Isabella canopy or one of our awnings. If we have an awning up we put the large table outside as well for eating and playing cards on. It is so relaxing and works really well

if you get chance I would also say try to get to one of the big dealers and sit in as many versions of the Eriba as you can to really get the feel of what works for you both.

I'm sure that you will find the model that best suits you both.

Hi Mike
Thanks for this.
We have been down to AL in Bournemouth for a look around - probably need to go again now I have a list of things I forgot to look at when we were there! It's taken a while to gather my thoughts and work out what we would and wouldn't need in the move back to caravanning - we'll get there....

Best wishes
Judy

We got our Troll 542 60th Edition from AL in 2018 and it’s great we love it ,especially the fantastic fixed bed , we also had a Motorhome before that and wished we had done it years earlier, enjoy your new adventures.
