Winter cover prep

I have just put my cover on my Eriba for the winter and I thought maybe some tips I have been using may help if it's your first winter.

First of all I give the van a good wash and apply some Bobby dazzler, the van is then left to dry with the top up, (top closed when the cover goes on)

I put some fleece on the windows to stop any abrasions, the front has a small bit of skirt threaded in the awning rail to stop it rubbing the cover.
I removed the chimney cowel and put a tennis ball in the open pipe. I leave the EHU cable connected so that I can charge up the battery which means the flap needs covering with a bit of pipe insulation. The tyres are placed on wheel savers which helps to avoid flat spots, the handbrake is left off, the tyres are covered. The waste pipe outside has a bit of nylon stocking with an elastic band, this stops creepy crawlies getting in the van and it also allows an air flow to avoid smells, the gas vent covers are placed on. On the corners I have some foam to stop the cover rubbing, you could use some small off cuts of an awning skirt to do the same job, the winter cover is now put on (made by specialised)
Inside I open all the cupboards, open the taps and open the toilet slide. The windows are kept closed, the fridge door cracked open and freezer box door is placed in the open position. The seat cushions are pulled away from the wall, I use two damp traps which will usually be refilled before the cover comes off.

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!
