Part of this cropped up in another post recently. I've been with Lifesure since 2015 and never seen a jump in Insurance, but this year it happened.
I know we all have different requirements, ages and locations differ, but this comparison on a like for like basis where possible may be of use.
The only differences lay in x/s where some policies would not go down to £100 and where they would this would still stand at a higher level for awning damage. All are for a wheel clamp and hitch lock for security. Some companies I contacted would not quote due to value of van and only two anti-theft devices.
Quotes are based on £25K [van, mover, awning etc] new for old, £500 contents, a low x/s of £100. European cover, no previous claims, legal expenses, stored at home, ins tax etc etc.
Lifesure - 2020-21 = £255
Lifesure - 2021-22 = £351
C&MC - 2021-22 = £431
SAGA - 2021-22 = £351
Caravanguard - 2021-22 = £327
Adrian Flux - 2021-22 = £434
Towergate - 2021-22 = £462
Cover4Caravans quoted £281 and £568. When I asked why the difference it was because the underwriter quoting £281 required CRIS registration. I explained no UK van is supplied like this and very few owners have gone through the process. I was then informed the broker was allowed to offer the second underwriter, Zenith at £568 for the price match at £281 if lack of CRIS was the reason for not being able to take out the cheaper policy. It got better as I phoned today to confirm I would take out new policy but asked about raising the x/s to get the price down a little more. No problem they dropped to £268 and have left the x/s at £100
The only drawback I can see is the new for old only runs for vans up to 5 years old.
On a second point, I believe there used to be a business link between Cover4Caravans, who also trade as Alan Blunden & Co of Southend-on-sea in Essex as back in 2009 I made a claim on a Red Pennant holiday insurance and it went through a Southend office on the same road.

Edit.
The only other company I could find with comparable costs was as Kevin, [Captain Calamity] pointed me in was Ripe Insurance (underwritten by Aviva). After juggling x/s etc there was little between them for me.
These were the only two companies I could find offering a high level of cover at a sensible price.

I have the same insurance requirements as you and same value van. My insurance is with Ripe Insurance (underwritten by Aviva). The cost is around £180 and they are happy with a chassis number rather than a Cris no. They are also comfortable with Milenco wheel and hitch locks. I store the van in a Gold CaSSOA yard. They have good reviews for customer service but no reviews of claims response yet.

I have found it is always worth phoning up to query a quote as the brokers often will offer a reduction to get your business. I guess at present all of the insurance companies are trying to cover liability for business continuity policies by clawing back elsewhere.
