With a bit of practice [ and a few beers ] you should be able to get that up to 3 hours.

Welcome, 2hrs, not bad. How many arguments with the other half? Great entertainment for your neighbours.
With practice you should be able to get a full pitch set up with awning, groundsheet, hook up, table and chairs, roof up, etc down to about 45 minutes before beer or tea in hand and relaxing.

Thanks for the encouragement Colin, I nearly lost it when my wife suggested we spend another 775 on a pump up job!

Welcome to a fellow Puck owner, mine is a little younger, 1999.

However, she may be right, I can't be doing with 2 hours of faffing with poles so a pump up job is the way to go for me.

Whichever you choose I am sure you will love your puck as much as we do!

Our van came with an awning that was definitely a divorce in a bag. Now, we just use a sunshade. Up in less than 5 minutes.

to the Forum. Awnings are a whole other issue. We have had several, they are all a compromise somewhere along the line.

Is there a choice for a Puck or just the Kampa Dometic pro air 260?

I looked for a sun canopy but there doesn’t appear to be anything in production at the moment that fits on a Puck without having to raise it above the rail to be able to open the door.

There are not many options for either air awnings or canopies for the Puck, due to the 2m rail length.

We have the Kampa pop air pro 260, which works well and has the option of a small sun canopy and side extension if required.

As for just a sunshade, I struggled with this same issue last year. In the end I found a Primo sunshade from the Caravan Canopy Shop for £119. This is a German canopy that is actually made by Wigo.

https://www.caravancanopyshop.co.uk/coll...ts/primo-canopy

Unlike the one illustrated on the website, this canopy only has 2 poles and I found that there was a problem with pooling in heavy rain, so I have added a middle eyelet and an additional pole that has resolved that issue. There is no problem opening the van door, although I am 6ft and I do have the front raised high enough that I can stand up.

Thanks, the awning that came with the Puck is back in the attic and we’ve decided to go for the Primo and use a good windbreak we already have - and maybe invest in a better one latter if this combination works. Off tomorrow for our first run. Let’s keep it simple. Bill
