Carole and I spent the day at Goodwood races yesterday. I came back with a few bob so not spent out as against her empty pockets where she had a sequence of last past the post. It is unusual as she knows horses and can pick winners or places from seeing them circle the paddock before the off.

Anyway we had fun regardless of the lousy weather which blossomed into a little sun as we left and drove home at about 6pm.

I had a second and two thirds each way and didn't receive money for the second third as there were only 5 horses running in that race, so I did feel a bit shortchange, but as I say I didn't lose the whole betting pot we allowed each other.
