Thinking of buying an Eriba Forever Young Troll 530. We live in France. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi Randa, sorry we have been off the radar for a long time. Illnesses etc. Hope you and your lady wife are well. Please keep in touch Dafydd and Beryl

The 'Forever Young' Touring models were featured in the 2009 Model Year brochures and price lists. The format was only available in 310, 430 and 530 layouts. It was a redesign which sought to get over some of the inherent issues in normal Touring models up to that time. The biggest change was to raise the height of the doorframe by 4ins, which meant raising the awning rail by a similar amount. To avoid this meaning a much higher van the fixed roof profile was flattened slightly and looks less bulbous and the profile of the poptop was also reduced, such that, overall, the increase in van height was only about 2ins.

Other changes were that the 530 version adopted the exterior width of 2.1m as used in the 55X series of vans, instead of its more normal 2.0m, whilst the other two models stayed at 2.0m wide. This extra width meant a redesign of the washroom, allowing it to be slightly deeper and the opportunity was taken to try out new furniture and the Thetford swivel toilet, instead of the bench version. There was also a new exterior paint finish and 'Forever Young' decals.

This all occurred at around the time when Hymer were announcing the closure of the Hymer France factory and the transfer of Touring production to Bad Waldsee. The 'Forever Young' models did not feature in the 2010 and onwards brochures, but the structural alterations they launched were incorporated in all the subsequent vans produced in Germany. The washroom design was also adopted for the normal production but only lasted 'til the 2013MY when it was redesigned again, with totally different furniture and moved back to a bench toilet, a design that has continued through 'til now.
