Unfortunately the heater cover in our GT540 will no longer attach because the fixing point on the top Right hand side has snapped.
I took it to a local welder for what is known as a TIG weld but they were unable to do it due to the coating on the metal so it wouldn't take. They tried a special araldite but that hasn't lasted. some of the vanes are also snapped and are just attached in the middle. Has anyone else had this issue?
A new front cover can be purchased (£150) but just checking that there isn't a cheaper / simpler solution
Thanks

Paul this has been covered fairly recently. The welder should be able to scratch the paint coating off so he can weld it. You could then spray the finished job with a heat resistant black stove/wood burner paint.

I had the base of ours welded after it broke, but it was the older type.
