I don't know how relevent they are. Perhaps folk could comment on here to clarify the issue regarding older cars? Do the owners of said cars need to modify thier engines? Will E5 still be available? Mrs R has just checked up on our 93 Escort XR3i and the Government say that all Ford models newer than 1992 except the Mondeo, are E10 compatible.
We well remember mistakenly chucking some 97 octane into our Astra when touring Northern Spain in the 90s. It popped and banged for the whole of the trip.

Just use v power or tesco super , still e5 then .

You need to check the octane before just chucking the more expensive fuel in, yes it's still e5, but the expensive is 97 octane cheaper one 95 octane, there's usually a sticker inside fuel flap.
