Glue to fix heat guard hinge to SMEV glass stove top?

Plastic hinges on the heat guard broke free from the stove glass lid yesterday. Looks like they were previously held with epoxy. Would Araldite be OK to re-fix?

Araldite should work perfectly. Just make sure you remove any existing glue and degrease/clean the are with meths. You may have to scratch into the paint finish slightly to get a good key, but take care as it is easy to go through this paint film.
This failure is a fairly common occurrence. Ours had been glued when we bought our 2006 Familia in 2011 and the repair held in the 6 summers we used it.

Ours came unstuck while touring in France and I repaired it with a superglue specially formulated for gluing things to glass.

As Colin says, cleanliness is essential for getting a good bond so be sure to read and follow the product instructions carefully.

If you can get hold of any, acetone is the best solvent for cleaning before applying epoxy. At least it was when I owned a fibreglass boat, it was supplied with repair kits. If you don't have any, overtures to the domestic management department may bear fruit, they use it as nail varnish remover.
Just don't soak plastic in it, a wipe over is fine, any slight softening of the surface improves the bond.
