SuperBatt 5 Silver 9000 battery Charger

I fitted a new Leisure battery in May 21, I have just stored the van for the winter and removed the battery. I was advised that I should leave the battery on the above charger over the winter as it would manage the condition and charge.
The new battery is a Numax Leisure LV22MF 75AH C20, Class C

The Charger gives me the option for setting as, 12V STD, 12V AGM/C, 12V GEL, 12V LFP

Now, me being a bit thick, am I right to assume that 12V STD is the correct setting as I really don't understand the other options despite reading the leaflet many times.

These settings refer to the makeup of the electrolyte in the battery.

For many years the Lead Acid batteries as used in vehicles and caravans were the flooded type, i.e the acid electrolyte was liquid.
More recent developments when spill-proof batteries were needed, the Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) and GEL acid electrolytes were developed.
Lithium Phosphate electrolytes are now more common and have a completely different charge profile to acid electrolytes.

These differing chemicals all have different charge rates and profiles and it is important the right one is set on the charger.

Your battery is a flooded one and you are correct to set it to 12v STD

Hope this helps.

Alan
