Deliveries
Interested to see on the M25 this morning a transporter with German plates and a Rockabilly, Troll and a Feeling on the back. I wonder which dealership is having those goodies delivered?

I've just had a look around and some things do impress me. The build quality looks a step up from the Tourings. Although the bathroom door hinges are the same I cannot see this being an issue as the van cabinetry seems rigid. Top locker doors also have good quality hinges. Internal space is wonderful, but would be as the van is wider. The fridge looks good, noticeably larger with a far better freezer compartment and a hooked door catch. The full bed and mattress rise in one full not hinged section on gas struts and not click type stays meaning access is very easy.
The things I do not like are:-
- top cupboard space does not seem so spacious, so I'll have to look at this closely.
- the chassis to ground clearance being very low. This is not an issue in itself but would mean the choice of mover is limited and as such expensive. If you fitted a "normal" mover then ground clearance would be down to about 100/120mm.
- the blown air ducting pipes also heavily eat into locker floor space [to be fair it does in any van] and could limit usage but with the heater central on the van I'm wondering if this is such an issue.
- the cross van bed is longer than in a Triton but shorter than in a Troll which seems surprising in that the van is 217cm width. But this is because you have a thin head and tailboard on spacers so your feet don't touch a cold van side. I suppose it's also an advantage as you have a space to bring a cable up through the under bed locker to tv etc
- I'd have to learn all over again how to remove panels and access electrics for adding more outlets, lights, tv/12v points
Overall, I'm still thinking it could be a good idea, but we all know who would make the final decision don't we gents.

I've worked out the volume of the top cupboards and they offer about 50% more than a Triton 430. They are taller and do not slope for the roof, hence the increase.

I've been in communication with that fine gent regarding the mover situation and another forum member who owns a Feeling 425.
One thing I will have to figure out is noseweight. The spare lives in the locker and I'd be carrying two bikes on the front. I'm wondering if putting a couple of battens on the floor under the rear bed would be an idea so the wheel could be housed there when bikes are on. I cannot see it being to much of a dumb bell effect as the location would be similar to the distances from the axle found when a spare is on a Triton or Troll.

We have got round the problem of feet touching the cold exterior, especially in winter. We use a 4ft 6" foam bench pad and tuck it down between the mattress and the wall.......no more cold shocks in the night!. In the summer it becomes a 'head board'.

It looks like two of the three may well have been advance customer orders as they have not gone onto the RL website, Gumtree or e-bay. It could be couple of lucky folk getting an early X-Mas present.

You're not wrong Ellen. The ebay Feeling is the one at Red Lion spotted on the M25. Red Lion have not advertised it correctly. I wonder if they know it is a 5 berth. I'm over that way tomorrow so I'll try and find out.
