It’s so sad, isn’t it? Ours sits just outside the kitchen door under its covers, makes me wish it was Spring 😢

I don’t know about sad, it was cold enough outside this morning for me to put socks on ! After rinsing the dirt off it took an hour to get my hands warm.

We covered our Troll last weekend, after paying a lot of attention to clearing all the water out we could, and then wrapping the taps and pipes. Always a bit amazed at how much water stays in the flush tank in the toilet until you disconnect it at the top of the tube and let it run out then finish off by turning the flush filler tube upside down.

We were in York week before and it was lovely during day when sun shone but boy was it cold at night. First my ears start to tell me it is cold then I always seem to get a drip of condensation off the aluminium trim on the pop-top that lands right on my bald head. Never cold in bed though as well wrapped up under quilt and extra blanket.

It is OK if you go out somewhere at night but I tend to start to get cold, even with the heaters on, if we sit around playing cards or reading.

Roll on Spring, hopefully in March

The only way to beat the blues is to start planning next year.
We've got the French meet in June, then 9 days next to Morzine in August where all the children are renting a huge chalet..... we'll retain our sanity by camping nearby..... then on to the lovely Oléron plus a few little jaunts as the fancy takes us. Aaaaah. I feel better already!

Sounds good Islay - the sun's almost in my mind reading your plans.

We also use the tactic of booking a site near to where the children are going for their vacations. It gives us time to spend on the beach with the grandchildren but also gives our children some time for themselves whilst we look after the boys. Boys love it as we spoil them with attention and fun.

We have just booked a site for a weekend near where they live for the boys to spend a night with us in Th'Eriba for the first time without parents. The 4 year old is not the best sleeper so we are close enough to their home for parents to drop them off and pick them back up if there are any problems with them sleeping. Really excited about it............................

Reading your plans has reminded me that we need to plan our Spring trip to South Wales sooner rather than later

Keep thinking of the Spring..............

Our winter tip is ------------ head down to the Costa Tropica for 11 weeks! No need to worry about frozen pipes or anything like that..

Derek, that sounds a good winter-proofing technique.

We fancy doing that it Portugal with the Troll one winter soon, grandchildren notwithstanding.
