thinking about the side rails now, is it a good idea to make up a pair of sockets out of these parts and slinding them into the awning rail so the pressure is taken on roof structure,

I don't understand. I thought you were planning on fitting a higher awning rail.

er4.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)er3.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)er4.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)i am fitting the higher rail, just wondered if this would stop any slipping of the awning feet, also the height i set the rail from the awning rail, the 125mm mearurement that you said made the feet not sit properly against the roof, using these sockets slid into the rail might help eliviate the problem.

You will definitely need the thumbscrew end stops. When I made mine I used a small slotted zinc plated screw instead, but I've now replaced this with a stubby stainless allen headed grub screw.
Your idea on the socket pads is a great one. You could fix these to a length of awning cord and just slide into place. The 125mm would then not be critical. You might however need to pop the extending roof rafter apart and drill another indexing hole as the extended length would be a fair bit shorter and not marry up with one of the factory holes.

Erik, that does not look correct. The C channel should be sitting so it projects out from the back plate not sitting on top. It could well cut into the awning bag over a short time. I used something like this https://www.homesteadcaravans.co.uk/acce...awning-rail.htm and managed to source it in 3m lengths on both occasions.

Hello Colin, I did look at that, and the angle of the rail will be fine if not perfect so long as you put it the right way around or upside down, I suppose I will fit it upside down with the screws on top so the slot follows the slope of th roof. more stuff arrived today and again thankyou for all the knowledge you have passed on, when i look back on previous posts you where the pioneer of the high altitude rail.IMG_20220112_154705.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Erik, I think my rail is similar to yours. Mine came in shorter lengths but went together OK.
