Colours

Gemani again.

Our 1984 Triton, bought a few weeks ago, spent all of its life on the continent until a 3 - 4 years ago. Its colours are cream and brown, which we have not seen before. Would repainting it white and silver, which seems to be the regular livery, be contravening some unwritten law?

Thanks

Hi Gemani. Welcome to Eribafolk.
Interesting question. Cream and brown is the standard Eriba colour for the early 80's. Some Eriba owners consider it sacrilege to alter the original colours of a classic van but many enjoy livening them up a bit.
Just take a look here:- g11-Unusual-Eribas.html
This 1979 Troll would not originally have been the colour shown in the photograph g11p1302-Danny-Van-Den-Broeck-Troll.html as this is typical for late 90's Trolls. It would more than likely have been cream and brown.

I always fancied British Racing Green and White (repainting your Eriba could lower its value)
I do actually like the airbrushed caravans that appear occasionally but the ultimate would be
the paint job that reflects the colours of its surroundings

I nearly bought a 2CV that was similar to your suggestion, only they called it Plum and Custard,
I suppose the Blood and Custard is in line with you calling your Troll The Black Pig ..... Aaarr!

Thank you Randa france and others. We shall have to think carefully about changing our Triton's livery. I don't find cream and brown very attractive, so you have given us some ideas to be going on with.

Its about weighing up how long you will keep it and what you are looking for by way of a resale price ?

Long term ownership and not to worried about moving it on paint it how you want it

Some people like originality so short ownership and sell it on demands leaving it original

you could vinyl, the brown to another colour, or even a fancy design like a link posted on here of a vinyl wrapped van..

I think WWI dazzle camouflage would look great.
