Eribacar 1993 where to install an additional leisure battery

Hi everyone,

I'm nearly a year in into owning my beautiful Eribacar (Carmel) and finishing off the final touches to the complete overhaul she's had.
We want to be able to use her fully off grid so we've had a solar panel and inverter installed.

My question is, has anybody else installed solar on their vans and if so have you added any additional leisure batteries and if so where have you located them?
We've renewed the original leisure battery (under the bonnet) but not sure it's enough to keep the appliances running on it's own.

We ran a VW California campervan until last year which has two leisure batteries fitted as standard. One is under the front passenger seat together with a number of fuses. The second one is under the wardrobe right at the back of the van.

These batteries are connected in parallel so one charger is able to charge both batteries simultaneously. Many owners fitted solar panels to their vans and only wired them directly to the rear battery via a controller, taking advantage of the parallel wiring to charge both batteries.

Hope that helps.

Alan
