I've just been perusing the above and came across an inaccuracy that I believe they repeat in all their ads. It's misleading for newbies and potential owners and to a degree is just lazy.
Their ads have a heading saying 'Standard Specification' which to me says this is what you get as standard with a Touring range van. Well for the 420 I was looking at here's their list:
External table rail
Alko stabiliser
Smev 2 Burner hob
3-way fridge
gas convector heating
Black out windows with fly screen
Rodex Upholstry
Multi-functional bed
Fly screen door
External stowage flap
Spare wheel and carrier
Reich motor mover
Stone impact protection panels
Now it's a white speckle finish job, so without GT Pack.
In truth the standard spec stuff is:
External table rail
Alko stabiliser
Smev 2 Burner hob
3-way fridge
gas convector heating
Black out windows with fly screen
The rest are extras, cost options, extra weight, not standard spec. at all.:
Rodex Upholstry
Multi-functional bed
Fly screen door
External stowage flap
Spare wheel and carrier
Reich motor mover
Stone impact protection panels
Of course it would be nice if they also said that it would cost £x to fit a hot water boiler, £y for a shower kit, etc, etc, thus pointing out the stuff that's not fitted so that the prospective owner knows exactly where they stand and what it would cost to get it. It might even generate additional dealer income..
Too often gullible new owners get sucked into buying our vans and assume they're fully fitted like UK vans and they're disappointed when they eventually realise they're not. The brand's authorised dealerships should be making things as clear as possible, rather than taking the easy way.
