While researching for a series of articles I've been writing for another website on Erich Bachem, I found details of the Hirth Aero-Sport caravan that he designed in the 1930s. It bears an amazing resemblance to modern 'teardrop' vans, don't you think?

A friend has just drawn my attention to the post-war Hirth 'Tramp' that was based on the 'Aero-Sport'. I'd never heard of it before.

I did wonder if the first picture I posted was distorted as the van appeared too tall for its width but the 'Tramp' looks to be the same.
