There are thousands of posts in the Eriba Market section which takes some ploughing through. When an item is sold why don't the moderators remove the posting, say after four weeks? This would remove the clutter and make finding relevant posts easier.

Frank

Frank, I had thought similar at times, but one advantage is members can look back and see what are realistic prices to buy or sell at.

Finding relevant posts suggests you are looking for something in particular. If that's the case, rather than ploughing through the entire for sale section, have you tried being more specific with what you put in the search box?

There certainly is a lot of stuff in there, but as Colin says, one of the greatest virtues of this place is its value as an archive.

It might be equally irritating if the very thing you were looking for in that section didn't appear at all because the four week limit had expired the day before you started looking.

Some forums I have been on in the past have had a moderator that seperates out the old adverts into different sections.

Whilst this sounds like a good idea, it takes up time and effort by unpaid part time moderators who often have a lot more on their plate than faffing around on the forum. So I can see why the 'pile it all in here and let the user use the search function' is often a better choice ;)
