Electric screwdriver

Hi, since the registry office doesn't give me a break, I wanted to hang up the crank by replacing it with an electric screwdriver. I found adapters on the net but I don't know the size of the hexagon of the foot. Could you help me?

I bought and use a standard 19mm x 30cm attachment designed for most (all?) caravans. It has done me very well for a number of years. It is, perhaps, a bit long, but even my wife uses it, so it must be good! There are plenty on Ebay from £6.59 to £8.99 - all look much the same. Search for "Caravan 30cm Corner Steady Legs Drill Winder Extension Adapter Socket 19mm" or similar combination of words!

I felt that the specifically designed steady winders were too long so bought a 19mm socket from Halfords and a set of short adapters off eBay which included a 1/2-inch drive.
Much easier to wield around the van.

I'll second that, an electric drill makes it much easier.

Thank you. I now have a cheap Parkside screwdriver that has a 6mm hex drive, do you know the diameter of the shank?

These are the Hex drives I use with a standard 19mm socket. Available on Amazon.

No, no, no, no, no. To all you noisy devils that wake the rest of the campsite up at 8am in the morning, drilling up your steadies when it's just as easy to wind them up manually and quietly.

Islay, Yann e Sascha!

Thanks Islay for your interest. Yes, the sun sends us a lot of heat, but we are, perhaps, more "lucky" because we live on the 7th floor and we have the possibility of having west-north and east windows, so the air flows well. We have air conditioner but we try to use it only when it is not possible to resist. Hydra keeps going out onto the terrace and coming back in, she loves the sun but it's too much for her too. The medications I took in France did their job and it's much better now. Thanks again.

Electric drills, campervan doors, the only noise Roger doesn't object to is the plop of a cork coming out of a bottle ....

This will come across as being slightly unkind when it really isn’t meant to, but you must have a proper pair of airbrakes if you can get corks in them.

I’m thinking BFG. That kind of size at the very least.

I can barely get the end of a finger in mine.

If yours really are that big, is there any chance of a photo?
