Does anyone ever bother to carry a spare door hinge? They just look like little cheap die cast things that could easily snap, I’m probably wrong, hope I am. I just thought if you were a long way from home it would be game over?

I've owned 4 Eriba's over 20 years. It has never crossed my mind to carry a spare hinge. They may not look particularly strong but they are. Do not worry.

I had to replace one once after a gust of wind caught the door and flung it open with some force, be aware that the top one is different to the lower one due to the angle of the skin

From what people say they do sound an absolute rip off price wise, £20 would be ample for a cheap die cast little hinge rather than £100 Plus I’ve heard, just profiteering

Door - damage - resize.jpeg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) You should be reassured that the hinges are rather more robust than you think. Some years ago in France our Triton was assaulted by n’er do wells intent on theft of contents. The door put up a stiff resistance and when it finally yielded it was only because it was completely bent out of shape; neither the hinges nor the lock actually broke.
