Duvalay Sleeping bags

Whilst our mattress in the Troll is comfortable we are thinking of a couple of the Comfort 5cms bags.
For anyone who has Duvalays how do they join together to make a double as they say they are open not zipped?
I'm guessing people find the bags comfy? What size Tog have people bought is the 4.5 warm enough?
Has anyone bought the pillows as well are they comfy?
Are the bags worth the money?
Many thanks in advance

Hello. We have 2 Duvalays and love them. We use them as 2 singles but I have a feeling they just zip together to make a double. They are really comfy and when we are not using them we roll them up and use them as a back rest in our Puck. Changing the sheets can be tricky but worth it once done. One of the zips on the bags broke quite early but they came with the Duvalays at the time we bought ours. The difference they make to just sleeping on a mattress is brilliant. Hope this helps.

We bought the dually single mattresses and zip a (supplied by them) sheet over them. These can be very quickly rolled out before bed and are so easy because there's no faffing with fitting the sheet to the mattresses. They come with a thin storage bag for daytime. We then use our home duvet over the top. Snug as a bug...

We've had two Duvalays since we started caravanning in 2011, Mick, and find them excellent if a bit bulky to store rolled up in their bags.
We got both the winter and summer inserts and in cold weather usually fit both. You can't zip them together but you can arrange them to have either a left-hand or right-hand opening so the open sides can be put together. We didn't bother with the pillows and just take a couple from home.
Overall, we are very satisfied with them.

We can beat Mr Huddersfield Narrow, having had Duvalays since 2007.
We only have the summer weight duvet insert and have never felt the need for anything warmer. Back in '07 there was only one depth of topper which is perfectly adequate. These days there seem to be too much confusing choice.
They are quite bulky when rolled up and the thicker the topper the bigger they become. There were no such things as bags for them when we bought them, just a couple of elastic band things. We lost one and I spoke to Duvalay and they sent us four of their belt type things which pull up tight and keep them tidy. All free of charge.
They cannot be zipped together but they can have the opening both ways just by turning inside out. For double use you just butt the toppers up against each other and have one or two depths of duvet over you, depending on the temperature.
Yes they are expensive initially but after 16 years I reckon each one has cost us about a fiver a year.
I had nothing to do on this hot afternoon

Morning Th'Old Rocker of a great vintage
Just noticed the thread. We have a 540 with the multi-function bed that opens up to a king size thing from the sink to the back of the van. We have used two single duvalay single mattresses (not sleeping bags for the last eight season and they are brilliant. They are so comfy that on some mornings on site we don't stir until well after 9.00.................!
Kath is very particular with bedding - she puts a fitted sheet across the full be and then then a king-size shhet on top. Wew then use a seperate duvet each on top of this. This may seem a fag instead of using a large double but as I don't like to be too hot an night we have different togs, hers is far neavier. We also have two pillows each. Kath has feather ones, I have a feather underneath and a special self-cooling synthetic one on top.
It works really well for us. All the bedding stores under the door side cupboard if we feel like putting the bed down during the day and having the table out in the back lounge area. It takes us about 7 minutes to make the bed ready to sleep in.
We would recommend the Duvalays to anyone, despite how expensive they are
Hope you find a solution that works for you both
