More than 25kg not necessary means Minimum load 25kg, I assumed.

The "zul." is an abbreviation of the word "zulässig", which generally means "permitted" or "permissible" in translation.

Zul. Stützlast = (permitted) maximum nose weight.

Zul. Gesamtmasse = (permitted) maximum gross weight.

German is a highly technical and precise language, with a lot of long, compound nouns, so they do tend to use shortened versions (indicated by the full stop at the end of a random word) a lot. They also do tend to dot all the "i"s and cross all the "t"s, sometimes twice, which makes simple instructions more complicated to translate/understand in the first place...

I don't know about the do-not-step sign, however I have changed my flimsy plastic cover to one of the aluminium covers, which you can - very usefully - stand on!

I rather like the German language ability to just add words together to make one new word. The longest currently in the Duden dictionary is 79 letters long. In practice most people shorten them, so you'll get weird "words' that look like military acronyms with umlauts. Here's a photo example of a common (not so long) usage; It is helpful to work such words from back to front:

Hinweis = notification, hint
Benutzung = use
Treppe = stairs
fahren = ride, drive

Thus, “notifications on how to use the riding stairs (i.e. escalator)”. Literally: “riding stairs use notifications”.

The longest German word that has actually been in use (not just made up for comical effect) is: Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgebenübertragungsgesetz”,
which was used as the short version for “Gesetz zur Übertragung der Aufgaben für die Überwachung der Rinderkennzeichnung und Rindfleischetikettierung. (English = Monitoring cattle identification and beef labeling)
The acronym normally used = RkReÜAÜG.

I use Deepl.com to translate into Polish - have a cousin there..... it works well.
