I'm sure that most of us have heard of this and its introduction has been difficult, to say the least. But now it seems to have all been decided and those of us who plan to travel to Europe from May(?) 2025 will have to apply for a Visa Waiver before we travel.

There is an article here..

but presumably more will be announced as we get closer to the November 2024 date. One small bonus, over 70s get it for free. Noy saying, anything, of course...

" over 70s get it for free", well that's most of the forum, except me.

Simon Calder explained that this will not come fully into effect until Nov 2025 at the earliest although you can apply for the ETIAS when the web site becomes live. He stressed you will not be turned away at your departure point if you don't have one next summer

Forgot to add you have to give an address for your 1st night ie in France, which makes it difficult for travellers like us who don't pre-book our sites
