As suspected, someone has previously had trouble with one of the fixed windows of our Puck.
The front one looks fine and the rubber gasket is sealed solidly. However, during the storms of earlier this week, the side fixed window leaked like buggery. Having looked at this today, look at this crap that I pulled out from behind the rubber on the outside of the window.

It hadn't stuck to the inside of the gasket: it hadn't stuck to the outside of the Puck window surround: It hadn't filled the obvious gaps between gasket and frame.
Why do some people think they can use silicone instead of the proper mastic ?
So, hopefully job done but even if it isn't quite, it's a lot better than it was when we started this morning.

Update. Throughout the winds and heavy rain of the past few weeks the Puck window is now as dry as a cork. Silicone? Sheesh, I ask you
Randa
Note:- Where does the term as dry as a cork come from? Surely, a dry cork is not good.

Thought the phrase was “dry as a bone” because you’re right a dry cork is very definitely not good 😁

It would appear I didn't mix it up, Must be a Welsh phrase and I've just found this:-
"What about Cork and Water? Cork does not absorb water or liquids which is why it's been used for centuries to float fishermen's nets and as stoppers for wine bottles"

A valid point but when I open a bottle of wine I don’t like to see a completely dry cork. That always suggest mass bottling and a bottle that’s never been laid down, not that I drink vintage, can’t afford it 🍷
Also not that your bottles are ever laid down for long Julie
