Hi Anyone had a problem with water leaking in through the closed pop up roof during storage? Left our 430 for a few weeks went to pick up from storage and heard dripping when we went in. Water running from roof and has damaged rear internal panels. We store the van with the front higher that the rear. After last trip i raised the front even more hoping this will cure the problem Any comments / thoughts appreciated

Have you checked if the water is entering around the high level brake light? A few of us have had to replace and/or reseal these lights.

Thanks Aaron, i havent checked there but water was coming in from the back side edge of the pop up roof area. We hitched up went inside and we could hear dripping and it was running down the outside of the cupboards towards the back corner of the inside panels. Panels were slightly swollen suggesting that there had been leaks in the previous 3 weeks. I find it very disappointing / annoying on a 2019 van

Geoff, if your van is up to date with the "Water Ingress" test, which only Eriba dealers can carry out, then you should be covered under the warranty.

I had trouble on one trip last year when I had forgotten to zip up one of the triangle air vents and it then leaked whilst being towed.

Thanks Colin, I'll ask the dealer as it was serviced last year and this by Eriba dealers. Only query would be that we were the second owners dont know if that affects the warranty. We have used it during heavy rain without any problem just happened whilst parked up at the storage site.

Hi Geoff. I'm not au-fait with the post 2010 vans with the flatter roofs and a different shape pop-top to the earier ones but I seem to remember a number of cases where they did leak into the van from the rear of the roof.

There's probably some discussion on here but the immediate solution during storage was to park them slightly "nose down" where as the older vans are normally parked "nose up". This is to stop water gathering at the rear of the roof beneath the pop top.

Geoff, your dealer will soon be able to confirm if the van still has its "Water Ingress" warranty. When the van is serviced at an Eriba dealer and the water test done then a certificate number is issued by Hymer that is held on their records. In effect you are paying into an insurance scheme that is available to you for 6 years from new. It is not a cheap test, costing typically around £150.
