Greetings anybody out there. I am going to install an isolator switch on my water pump. I have contradictory advice on whether to put it online on the +ve
or -ve wire. Any ideas would be really Appreciated.
Cheers

Iain, it is standard practice to switch the positive and this is what I have done on the two installations I have done.
Remember that on the 12v the +ve should be brown, so it is advisable to check with a mult meter.
I'm assuming you want to match up your new switch to the other switches and sockets, so have a look on the Clearcut Conversions website. They are based in Barnstaple, Devon.

Colin

Edit, senior moment here in Greece brought on by high temperature and possibly alcohol. The 12v +ve should be BLUE, as picked up on below by Alan.

I found that the 12-volt wiring on my Troll is reversed, i.e. the brown cable is the negative feed.

However, the UK-installed mains sockets are wired with the brown cable as positive which complies with the UK mains standard.

Switching the positive cable is right, but do a check with a meter to double-check the 12-volt wiring on your van.
