Brake rod mounting

Hi all,
Does anyone have photos or details of how the brake rod is fastened on the ALKO chassis?
I know it has the bracket where it operates the brake cables leading to the drums and it’s attached to the hitch, but is there any support between these two points?
I’m asking because our new 550 has the Knott running gear, and there is a plastic support half way down the draw bar. This clips onto the drawbar, but it was hanging loose after we arrived home, and the braking system has been sounding like the damper had failed, and I’m wondering if it was the rod flexing. Certainly I can’t move the hitch backwards.
Thanks.

Are you a member of the Facebook Group Steve for I know a very nice man who'll possibly takes some photos and I can ask him for you if you like? It is of course Iain Mortimer who will not be too far away from his new 600 series.

Where did you purchase it? Perhaps they could help or would you rather go in fully loaded if it is a fault from new?

Hi Roger,
I am on the Facebook group, but Ian has just changed to the 630 which has the same Knott chassis. Still, you’re right,, it would be worth checking with him to see if he’s experienced anything similar and ask for some photos.

I’d like to fix it before we set off for the Scottish meet, which is the obvious time to pop into ALV. I don’t expect it to be a big issue and if it needs fettling to improve it that’s not an issue for me.

Great call, thanks.
