Hi,
Here to learn and find out more about Eribas. I’m from south of England but live in Greece so would be importing from mainland Europe. Never seen an Eriba up close never towed anything but I dream of spending my retirement being able to hit the road and explore. And I like well made and often vintage things, not too handy with mechanics though so won’t be after a project vehicle.
This seems like a nice, friendly and organised, informative site. Glad I found it .
Hello !

Hi Sue and welcome to Eribafolk Which area of Greece are you living?
We did a three week tour of Greece with our Eriba back in 2019 and travelled from Newhaven to Dieppe before heading south east through France, through the Mont Blanc tunnel and down the east coast of Italy before catching the ferry from Bari to Patras, a 16 hour jouney where you camp in your Eriba on board.
Quite a fun journey to take if you are concidering importing your Eriba yourself.
Now, I don't know what the implications are with importing but when we Brits travel to Europe with our Eribas, we obviously pay for them on the ferry but because in the UK caravans are not seperately registered and have the same number plate as the car, we are asked no questions when we cross the channel.
Don't know what anyone would say if we returned to the UK without the eriba but you wouldn't be doing that.
Caravans in other parts of Europe are seperately registered and need to have regular TUV (MOT) checks,
Randa

Hiya, well the import idea has been scotched since finding a friendly Greek dealer who assures me he can find me whatever Eriba I set my heart on. Sounds far less stressful way to go.
Sounds a fab trip Randa. We are much closer to the other port on the west coast of the country, up north near Corfu.
Thanks for the welcome folks !

Igoumenitsa I think? The ferry Squeeeezes past Corfu and the mainland coast before stopping there at around 6am. The Ferry "campsite" was on the foredeck of the ferry and was complete with private toilets and showers just for us. No glass just open widows to each side.
The rear of the deck was loaded with dozens of artics all bound for Igoumensita. The drivers used other facilities. At around 6am we were only slightly aware that we had stopped and that something was quietly going on outside our group of campers. When we started up again I poked my head out of the door to see that the deck was clear of all heavy lorries. It was magic how they had achieved that with so little noise and fuss.
Greece has many lovely campsites with very friendly owners.

Hi Sue & welcome
Talking of getting an Eriba in Greece last October we went to a hotel on Halkidiki and we flew into Thessaloniki. On the way to our hotel we passed through the city outskirts and we passed what looked like a caravan and campervan dealership. Kath thought that she saw an Eriba there towards the rear of the plot.
Now we were very, very tired having been up at 2.00 in the morning to get to the airport and not getting any sleep on the plane and the coach was motoring quickly, so we might have been mistaken ..................but Kath is good at spotting Eribas. She spotted a vintage Puck in the extreme south of Fuertaventura a couple of years ago.
Perhaps worth an internet search?
Good luck
MikeT

Hi Mike, thanks for the welcome. I've found a dealer who is actually around the Halkidiki exit and he's got a new large Eriba, so maybe it was that one. Thanks for the shout out!
Sue
