Scratched Windscreen Glass

Does anyone out there know of an easy way of getting rid of a series of rainbow scrapes on the the front windscreen caused by the plastic end cap of a windcreen wiper unseating? The scrapes are caused by the plastic which is still in place but was misaligned.

I've spent much time on the internet and YouTube but I don't fancy using a rotary disc which absolutely knackers the windscreen until the end process.

I've read about household recipies like using toothpaste or bicarb but have not tried them yet until I get some advice from you lot

I'm guessing you've probably got replacement windscreen cover on your insurance?

If you do, there's almost certainly an excess.

If your own time faffing around with it is worth more than the excess, then I reckon it's a no-brainer.

Get it replaced.

You'll never be able to get it anywhere close to what a new one is like and you'll likely spend hours and hours trying, never mind having nothing to clean your teeth or make Yorkshire pudding with when you've given it up as a bad job.

Getting a replacement won't affect your no-claims.

Jewellers rouge, but it is hard work. I had / have the same problem and it has made it a little better but as it isn't in the eye line it went through the MOT ( twice) Good luck
