Locking window catches for Polyplastic windows under a tenner...

Having installed a few of the locking versions of the Polyplastic window catches after advice on here (somewhere), I am now buying some more for my "new" Troll. Having searched widely (and found them generally in the £15 to £20 each range) I have found that Magnum Motorhomes are selling them for £9.50 each plus postage (£3.95 for up to the 5 I have just bought). This is the same price as most dealers and stealers are selling the non-locking versions for...

The term "locking" is rather a misnomer from Polyplastic - they are really just fitted with a push-button release, which means you can't push/pull the handles up from outside through the open window slot. They are, indeed, great to stop someone opening the window easily when left on vent, but do ensure you hide a spare key somewhere if you have an older "van with the amazing self-locking door when it slams shut (yes, it happened to me and, I know, a number of others). I use a hidden magnetic lock box now...

Cheers, Simon

For the benefit of members who joined us after 2017, I thought I'd share this post with you. I adapted Chris' idea a bit (see page two) and they are still in use.

...and looking back at that article, the retail price used to be £9.50 and is now 50% higher...

...and the standard, non-locking ones are now £9.50 !!
