IMG_0592.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)IMG_0591.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)I was amazed when I bought my Triton 420 two years ago that the window openers did not have a locking mechanism. As a completely new member I thought I might share my inexpensive solution.

I made a number of these (enough for my Triton) from one piece of black plastic conduit purchased from B&Q for £2. They slip over the window handles and prevent lifting by a tool inserted through the window seal.

As you can see I have added a couple more photos which give the dimensions as well as showing one in place.

Looks a simple solution. Do you just put one on each window?

Having been robbed as we slept, I like that, a nice simple [and cheap] solution.
After our robbery we bought these which work well, but I like your solution.

Any chance of a picture of one fitted, Chris, or a brief description of how they work as I'm having difficulty understanding the principle? Can you provide measurements of length, diameter, cut-outs etc?

I'm all in favour of simple, cost-effective DIY solutions to problems. If they do the job it would represent something like a £90 saving on the proprietary locks featured in the video.

This would make a good topic for our 'How to...........' section.

It looks to me as if it works on the same principle as the lock -m-out, when it's placed over the handle the "tail" stops it lifting. As you say Aaron, a darn sight cheaper than £90! I await further details from Chris with interest.

That looks like an excellent simple solution ....

Use 22mm otherwise you will not have enough to cut a reasonable hole.
I used electrical conduit.

Behold and thank you Chris. I used 20mm conduit. Works just fine.
