Wash Room Mirror - Eriba Triton 430GT

Our first trip out in our new purchase gave me a bit of a shock. When we set up I discovered the mirror from the wash room had fallen out. Luck was on our side as it landed on a loo roll and that saved it from smashing.
The mirror doesnt seem to be held in place by anything other than gravity pulling it into the slots at the bottom of its frame.
I towing pretty carefully and cant remeber any particularly harsh bumps (although many roads are full of potholes). Has anyone else had this problem?
I am considering a couple of blobs of silicone rubber behind it to stop this happening again.
I have since noticed that one of the screws at the top of the plastic frame is missing so maybe there was enough flex to let the glass jump out.
Any thouights gratefully received.
Paul

I seem to remember that our Troll has 4 small semi-transparent mirror clips.

Thats interesting. No sign of clips at all.

I think I can put a couple of blobs of silicone behind the mirror and that should hold it from popping out.

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Paul. Having looked again, the semi transparent mirror clips are for the wardrobe mirror.
Our washroom mirror has two upper clips moulded into the wall fabric and three similar clips fixed to a moulded strip across the top of the wash basin cabinet.

to get mirror back in you need to remove the upper light pod, the sink holds it in place, to remove sink need to remove mirror, so what ever you use make sure can ensure mirror removes, otherwise you have to smash and replace at additional cost if you need to replace sink or any jobs requiring its removal...

Many Thanks. Mine seems to be slightly different - the bottom clips are part of the moulding behind the sink. I have got the mirror back in place now and I think I have the solution - I'm sure my next trip out will be the proof.

many thanks for your help with this - much appreciated.

Paul

Many thanks

I have the same top clips but the bottom ones are more or less the same but very shallow (less than half the depth of the top clip)

I have dreampt up a small insert to stop the mirror jumping up and hence out of the bottom clips.

Thank you for taking the trouble to investigate.

Paul
