Thetford emptying

Just recently I have noticed more and more people using their car to transport their Thetford cassette to the emptying point. Having done some "people watching" I have also noticed how heavy these cassette's seem.

I don't use my car on site except for going out or coming back, and I certainly don't use it because my Thetford is overflowing human excrement! and I certainly don't use it because I'm a fat person (although I am)

These people are not disabled! These people are lazy, and I could add a lot more words of a derogative nature.

Our Thetford is emptied everyday or every other day at most, it is not heavy as even this doddery 61 year old can easily carry it it is only used for night time wee wee's and I use a cheap "every little helps" toilet fluid which smells of pine.

Don't join the lardy club set a good example, leave it cleaner than it was whenyou found it, Agger does!

Soap box now put away till needed again

Saw a bloke at Wareham last w/end towing his Thetford behind a very smart, early 14 plt, T5 VW campervan to the emptying place.

It didn't increase the street cred of the van at all

1. Can't say that I've ever seen that.
2. So, not only do you have the cleanest, tidiest and shiniest Eriba in the history of caravanning, your cleaning fetish also extends to the inside of your toilet.
3. If it needs emptying every day or every other day, and it's only being used for nocturnal micturition then I suggest you need to see a doctor (or drink less ale before bedtime.)

Seriously, a full cassette is damned heavy as is a full 15L water container so I think that in future (car boot capacity permitting) I may take my folding sack trolley for hauling liquids on site. Something like this would be ideal if you don't already have one.

I use a 5L watering can to fill my containers as and when needed which also means there is not so much to drain off before moving on.

Same here but there's only one of you. I fill the water container in situ under the sink using a watering can with a length of plastic hose fixed to the spout but it takes three trips to and from the tap to fill it. As for the Thetford, ours is used like Agger's but I wait until the contents indicator has started to move before emptying it. By then it is quite heavy to carry to the disposal point which can be some distance away. I suppose it all depends on how long you are staying in one place and how much water you use.

Well I must be the exception then, I like clean! It's a personal statement for me. I use a watering can 5l to top up the flush and empty the cassette as stated earlier. A pint of water weighs a pound and a quarter and tat does'nt include wee wee's or the weight of the unit. I'm a fit healthy guy and like the physical side of things

Ours doesn't have wheels and has to be lugged manually to the disposal point.
