Hi everyone! Joined a while back when I first became a bit Puck obsessed, but tomorrow is the big day when finally, if all goes according to plan, I get my Puck!! To say I'm excited is an understatement!

Am feeling a bit nervous about the whole towing malarky though......

Hi Sarah J. Great news about the Puck. Have you got far to go to collect her?
Don't worry too much about the towing, you'll soon get the knack.
Plenty of photos please

Hello Sarah from Carole (Champion tower) and Derek (he's ok).
Carole got the hang of it in France and happily, I think, towed 1/4 way round the Paris periphque.
Don't worry, just do it.

Cardiff. Cardiff??? Where's that?
Seriously though, get on a dual carriageway or a quiet good road as soon as you can. Keep the speed down and keep looking behind to gauge the speed and distance of other traffic. Always be aware of what's behind you. Anticipate slowing traffic, road junctions and roundabouts and reduce speed early. Also get into lane early. Confidence will start to grow after about 10 minutes after which you'll start to enjoy it.

Thanks for the advice! I'm expecting gritted teeth and a tension headache for the first half hour at least!!

I wasn't going to get mirror extensions as it's a Puck......or should I, as it's my first time towing????

Now you've raised the bar in question with the mirror thing Sarah. Strong feelings and discussions ALL OVER the caravan world on this and so many different points of view and no definitive rule.
Lots of ifs, maybes, if necessaries.
I am afraid you will have to make your own decision on whether to have them or not.
However Randa's query just in will help

Also what's your art interest?

A Mini Cooper Clubman, so fairly narrow but wider than the Puck if that has a bearing?

As you've got little time to source mirrors and the Mini is wider than the Puck, I would go with what you've got and see how it goes. Extension mirrors can be a bit of an added distraction anyway at first. I notice that Minikay doesn't have extension mirrors on her car. g2p1025-Minikay-s-Puck.html
Just be sure to use your car mirrors more frequently than normal so that you always know what's around you and always give people behind and around you plenty of warning as to what you are doing.

Thanks Randa, yes, observation & planning early is what I'm planning! - I used to ride a motorbike so tend to use my mirrors lots anyway looking out for bikes.
