Definately, I used to fly large kites up to 15metres and mountain board until about 3 years ago we had and still do have quite a few flying objects but seldom use them these days, thats how I know a bit about the poles etc

Don't go and buy a "flag pole" get to your local market or fishing tackle shop and buy a carp rod. Exactly the same.

You can buy sleeves to go over the top which have lots of loops so you can attach several flags if you want. or you can buy "flag toggles" basically an elasticated loop that can be used to hold the flag to the pole. :)

we have a 7m one, but the top section is so thin and bends that one is taped to next one down, which will support the Yorkshire flag :-)
our flag clips are taped on with waterproof tape
if the wind gets to strong ours reduces in height all by itself
I normally bungy strap pole to the hitch, or jockey wheel assembly

Our flag is internationally famous and the only one of it's design and is Hash specific.

We have a second hand pole and those flag toggles and a double clip thing to secure the pole to the jockey wheel upright.
