Eribella

Came across this 25 year old Eribella whilst walking around the campsite we were staying at last weekend. Is this the forerunner of the Eriba's we know today?
Immediately to the left as you enter the door is the sink with fridge underneath. Straight ahead from the door is a small washroom (no toilet) and to the right are the benches which make up into beds.
What fascinated me about this van is that when the pop-top is pushed up - in place of the canvas that we have today are solid boards that lift up and slot into place. When folded down they form part of the internal roof. Due to this the rear window is also solid glass.

Yes, they're interesting aren't they? I'd never heard of them until Aaron Calder came back from France with a photograph of one.
I'm not sure but they may be a predecessor to the Eriba Future.
If you look at the photo gallery g6-The-Eribelle.html you'll see that there was an Eribette around at the time of the launch of the Eribelle as well.
We also came across this video last week. Eriba Eribelle

Did you notice with the van shown in that video that it appears to be on a floating chassis? For the first couple of minutes when the video was showing the front/side of the van there appears to be a gap between the bottom of the van with what's under that giving the impression of being the equivalent of a running board as fitted to older cars. However, this continues all the way round and when the video shows the back it definitely gives the impression that this van...................well I'm not sure.............how's the chassis attached to the frame?

Yes, it looks like they've taking the original van off its axle and re-mounted it, including its existing chassis, onto a new tubular chassis with leaf springs and dampers. A tough looking little beast....

Did you see that I've put another link to a 2011 Eribelle Rally on my previous post?

Talking of the Eriba Eribette, we've just found this website
Not only does the relevant section contain some nice photos of the Eribette but it also features the Eriba Camp Liner as well as some good photos of classic Eriba Touring models. There's a couple of photos of some "blind fronted" Eribas which we've never seen before (we've seen them with one window).

Lots of them seem to be taken near a warehouse (sorage facility, dealers, ferry port?) a few others are taken at what I would call "rest places" possibly on Autobahns, at least 1 has a garage in the background?
