Hi, we have just come the the conclusion that we can't tow a great white whale, tents have lost their appeal, I think a Eriba is the van for us, mum, dad, sprog and the dog. The hunt is now the find one that will do (got 6 months or so) any ideas

It all depends where you live and what your needs are. If you are within reach of Poole then Automotive Leisure is your best bet to have a look at vans to compare layouts and practicality. If that's too far then you will need to look out for dealers or private sales nearer to you. Our members are often only too happy to let you have a look around their vans if you live near to them.

The big question is, do you want a washroom/toilet? Have a look at the specifications, second-hand vans available here together with their prices and please, don't be afraid to ask questions. We'll do everything we can to help you find the right van for you.

Hi Rusty and welcome to Eribafolk. As Brian (Aaron Calder) says, try to look around the various models available that you think will accommodate you all. Are you or spouse (or sprog for that matter) tall or short? Also you have to consider your tow vehicle. Is it large or small?
Second hand non-washroom models are probably easier to come by and they normally have more sleeping space. Many folk carry a porta potti separately.
If you are looking for an Eriba with a washroom and wish to accommodate mum, dad, sprog and dog then you'd probably be best looking for a Triton 430 or a Troll 530 or 540.
Eriba washrooms however, although handy for the fitted toilet and sink, are hardly big enough to consider showering in.
Plenty to consider but that's part of the fun.

Thanks for the positive responses, a toilet is a must, not fussed about a shower as I have to say that I not seen a bad shower block on a campsite for years, towing not an issue we have 2ltr TDI Golf so I think the Troll 530 is a good starting place to look. I pass Poole on business every few weeks so I will drop in to Automotive Leisure & have a look.

All the best for your search. We use AL as they are very close to us and you are always welcome to have a look at ours if in Bournemouth... We have a 2002 Future 430T with washroom and dinette area as it sleeps 3.

We've recently up-sized to a Troll 550 because we have just had a baby. The layout has a dinette along the side which gives easy access for sitting and also makes a second double bed if needed.
Good luck.

Rusty
agree with the suggestions of the larger eribas
, can your car tow 1300kgs newer eribas (approx year 2006 on)
1200kgs (2000 -2006)
or 1000kgs upto year 2000)
some eribas had option of larger axle weights

the years mentioned are from memory so is just a guide.
admin feel free to adjust if have made mistake

On our last site near York a couple were interested in our PuckL not that I am suggesting it would suit your needs, but they did say they would like a picture and keenly interested, so that they could advise the sister. Not sure how old, single or what but they thought an Eriba would be perfect as she hates to think of herself using a big white box, similar to their own which was parked in the site all season. Might have a new member here guys, as they took note of the sticke.
