Hi, I wonder if anyone can advise me! I don't have a garage for my Eriba so am wanting to buy a winter cover. AL in Poole offer the perfect size for my model for £179 which does have the luxury of the zipped entrance to the door. I have seen on EBay a company Wild Outdoor for all things caravan that sells a similar product - Kampa all weather breathable cover for 82.50 ! (No door) Does anyone have any experience / knowledge of any such item that they might give me some advice please?? Thanks

Hi Lou.
I think it's fair to say that the majority of Eriba owners who use winter covers for their vans, use the fitted ones such as the one you describe on offer by Automotive Leisure. There's more discussion on the subject here :- winter cover
As well as Automotive Leisure, there's also http://www.pro-teccovers.co.uk/ who supply covers to much of the caravan industry.
If you go down this road however please ensure that the supplier is fully aware of the door position on your Pan/Familia because there are so many variations. Be safe and not only give them the model number and year of your van but also a measurement of where the door is.
Cheaper generic covers are used and some people prefer them but against the size of the small Eriba range, there's a lot of spare material to flap about, plus you can't gain entry into your van that easily.

I seem to recall reading somewhere (on here?) that Protec covers for Eribas are only available through AL now. When I bought mine it came direct from Protec.

An access door is in my opinion essential as removing and replacing a cover involves much faffing around and is really a two-person job.

You can also get a fitted cover with a door from specialised , you use to have to buy them through Leisure Vehicles but I have noticed that you can get a cover for the Eriba Familia 2012 model (the taller Eriba) direct from specialised. I h
I already have a cover for my 2012 Famila which we bought back in 2012 and I had to liaise with specialised to provide the measurements. They are expensive but very good quality and you can now have them in a two tone colour with your name stitched on it as an option...

EDIT UPDATE:

I have just spoken to specialised covers, you can go straight through them now for a cover, if it's not on the option drop down just contact them and they will be able to accommodate you, they just may need some info from you. They already have the pattern for a 2012 Famila as it was mine...

we once had a grey breathable cover, we gave up using it after discovering we could cook on the roof it was way too hot to touch, the heat generated from the sun was too much for my liking, in open air the roof doesn't get that hot..
we discovered dust could blow up onto the roof in cover use, but the cover did keep the caravan clean from black marks saved polishing roof at regular intervals, and kept the uv off the roof..
