Old git's frustration

My old Nokia died this morning so I bought a similare Samsung, very basic. I inserted the Vodaphone SIM card and I get no contacts. Why is this? I try Vodaphone and Samsung help and it is impossible to get a response or answer.

It could be because your old contacts were "stored" on your old phone and not the sim

No problem, if you can fire up your old mobile? You may be able to "send" the contacts list from the phone memory to the sim

The other thing that mystifies me is trying to get a unique ringtone on it. Any clues? I have googled it and it all seems to go to iphone

Usually you just go to settings on the phone, mine is a Samsung Note and thats all I do, I can use a standard "on phone" one or dowload one from the internet. They are all different in the way they allow you to acheive it, even from the same maker.

Yes thanks, the GC won#t help as they are only 7 and 9 but the son and daughter may do. This phone is extremely simple and maybe limited in what I can do on it.

All contacts done yesterday, the long way punching them in while daughter, Carole and Gd were at B/mouth air show fighting the crowds. Doesn't interest me.

Tell us about the show!! living so close to it and the noise, have decided a caravan holiday will happen simultaneously next year!! I had a job in London today and on the way back met the start of the queue at Winchester and it went all the way to Bournemouth Pier!!... thank goodness going the other way.
