UK or non-UK Eriba.
Hello,
I'm going to hopefully purchase a used Puck or a 310/320 quite soon, providing I can find one. People have mentioned getting Eribas from abroad or getting someone to import one. I would not like to do this myself, but may get someone to do it for me.
If the van was from abroad, are there any differences from UK specs which need to be adjusted such as lights and gas/electricity to comply with the law? Once this has been done, can I then take the Eriba to any dealer for general servicing etc?
Thanks,
Philip.

'Morning Philip.
The best person to discuss this with is Neville (Hob) who had a lovely looking Triton brought into the country earlier this year. He's normally on line quite a few times during the day so hopefully he'll be able to answer your questions.

Bear in mind that the van will probably not have the UK fire retardant labels on the cushions, I don't think it is a big issue however I know that Jandi will not take them in as part ex because they have to change the foams to comply with the UK regulations. If the van is still within its six year damp warranty I know of a least one Hymer dealer Lowdhams who will not service a non UK spec Eriba. I wouldn't think that these issues should put you off as there are many Eriba owners in the UK with non UK supplied vans including myself with my previous Puck that was Dutch but converted and supplied by the UK dealer Lechdale.
I used to use a mobile engineer to service the Puck from the approved workers scheme.

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!
No experience of importing Eriba's, BUT, we bought a German spec Burstner 495tn Lux in 1991 from a dealer in Hameln. We used it extensivly for 4 years in Europe, and then for many years here in the UK.
We had no problems whatsoever, we used German 2 pin plugs (we bought a small stock before returning to the UK) It was a fantastic van and I would 'nt hesitate to recommend anyone thinking of buying from across the water to do so. I have no experience of the paperwork side of things as that has changed since 1995 when we came back.
We have had our UK spec 2004 Troll 540gt for 8.5 years now and I just would'nt have a UK built van, I could go on but I won't.
Likes to wax and have a smooth finish

Hi Sally and welcome to Eribafolk. Thanks for joining us. Bet you can't wait for July. Are you going to make a holiday of it? Belgium and Zeeland are a nice part of the world.
Are you buying from a dealer or privately? If a dealer and only an hour from Calais, that's very useful information.
