Hi Andy and Gillian.
That’s great news. We really hope it ticks most of your boxes.
There shouldn’t be much wrong with it at that age and it has probably only had one owner.
For your own information, check the documentation to see if it’s been regularly serviced, especially during its warranty period. At the same time you'll be able to see if it was built for the European market or the UK market.
You should be able to tell if the Puck has been well looked after and cherished. Eriba interiors are fairly robust and if it's been abused you’ll see where its been bashed about. Look in all the cupboards and lockers and use your eyes and nose to detect stains or damp. A good dry Eriba will smell like.......an Eriba
To check out the electrics you'll need an Electric Hook Up (EHU) so that you can get mains power to it. If it's at someone's house you'll also need a UK 13 amp plug adaptor. They should own these and may well throw them in as part of the deal. Check that the fridge works on gas and mains electric. You won't be able to check that it "ticks over" on 12V unless you take the van for a spin. Don't forget to check that the cooking hob works too.
Does it have a spare wheel and what is the age stamp on the tyres? Don't just rely on the tyres having a good tread. If they are 5 years old you'll need to change them. Have a prod around underneath, especially the small box framing around the underside bottom edges of the van. You shouldn't find anything wrong under there but its worth a look.
If you can't take it out for a tow, brakes can be checked by operating the handbrake and also by pushing the tow hitch in and out.
Finally, hitch it up and check that all the exterior road lights are working.
Good luck.

Tyres. I know you're a cagey old bugger , but I still think that blanket advice to replace on five years no matter what is being over cautious. For what it's worth I'd be checking them rather more assiduously after five years - using a professional if necessary - and working on the basis that you'll be binning them after about seven as a matter of course.
I don't think there's any point wasting money by chucking them away too soon if there's nothing wrong with them.

Yes, I'll give you that one but I still think that if I was to view a van where the tyres were around the 5 year old mark and especially with no history of how they had been treated, both on the move or during storage, I would expect the seller to make an allowance on the price, as you have no way of seeing if they'll last a bit longer until you get them checked out.
