This is the slipway at Ridge Marina. Wareham where we used to moor our 14ft Dijon dayboat named Fidget after our daughter Bridget. The big frame tent, once Snowdon Towers, was pitched for the season on the campsite at Redcliffe Farm, some of you will know the place, leave the boat in the water and hey presto we had a holiday home.
Often my dear old Mum would come down and camp with us. We would launch the boat down this slip on first arrival and Mum would come and help/watch. She wasn't the best on her pins and we did warn her about the slippery slip, but sure enough she went down on the algae and silt and launched herself. After we had stopped laughing and dragged her out we had to finish what we were doing and get Mum back to the tent.
The sight of all her clothig, underwear including a full body corset, hanging on our line outside the tent was something else.
Sorry no photos of that.
