North/South wilderness

Since the mid 70s the same Italian has cut my hair. Peppe was recruited by Mario, the best barber in Southampton at the time and when I started needing appointments because of my job committments and desire to stay faithful, I was given Peppe, having to drive 12 miles between Winchester where I worked and Southampton. Peppe now has his own business in the opposite side of the city and I travel some 6 miles every month for my trim.
We got onto snooker in our chat and it turned out his 12 yr old son Danny was an aspiring player and Peppe had built a full size, permanent brick building as the snooker room at the bottom of the garden. I was invited to play and did so several times with Peppe and when Danny would come home from school he would join us and mashed me every time and I was playing first team premier dividion local snooker at the time. Being beaten by a 12yr old superb cue man was no disgrace.
Danny went on through the ranks but never quite made the pro scene, but is still a name to be reckoned with in this area and practices with Jimmy White who lives in the city. Danny Zagarolli works for Peppe in the barber shop and he does my trim if Peppe is busy or having a day off. I refuse to be cut by the two girls employed as their incessant boring chat about holidays etc drives me daft.
Carole drove me down one day and noticed a ladies salon next door. It was Peppe's daughter Nadia so having tried her we now go together, it saves time and fuel.
The wilderness that is the top of my head needed a trim while we were oop north early August. I decided it had to be done as I would have a fringe if left to grow, so while in Barnard Castle, I breezed into a barbers and asked how much would they charge an old git for a No 1 all over.
£3 was the reply so a pleasant and not too chatty young lady did it.
Carole then remarked when I caught her up in Morrisons that I would have to travel there each month, seeing as Peppe charges me £9. Cost and inconvenience rules that out and also I can't leave Peppe in a lurch just like that after so long.
The BabyBliss trimmers I bought years back can do it if Carole will spare the time cos' I can't handle them safely looking into a mirror. But I do miss Peppe's banter if I can't get down to him.
Eriba people who know me and my wilderness, please advise. What should I do in this dilemma?

It's your barnacle so do what you please, go to the best company for the chatter - my guess is her indoors would be happier going alone rather than you tagging along!

I've been cutting my own now for the best part of 40 years, don't use a mirror, just feel anything from shaved to a no 4 but apart from Northern Ireland in the 70's I never have had long hair, just long enough for her indoors to run her fingers through it

Not for a second.

Nor me mine could go 10 rounds with Henry Cooper and beat him just by talking, a bit like Mohammed Ali our Enry won that fight

Carole gets hers done while I am getting mine so it works in that sense. They often want to do my eyebrows but it's a jok now and only say it to get a reaction.
