nope at home the flashes were over 4 miles away too much bang, too loud noise, never been this loud before,
at one point it sounded like we were standing next to a gun range,
what were they thinking!!!...
so the extent of the damage so far
our beds been covered in uncontrolled cat poo other cat covered the hall floor in vomit,
now the bedding in wash, hall floor tiles in bath,
enough excitement for one night,

stay safe

We had the annual village firework display last night and I'd heard that several other nearby displays were on at the same time. We once tried to 'outrun' the noise and took the beardies out to Blackshaw Moor in the van. There were still a few bangs even there up in the Peaks.
Anyway yesterday we were prepared with the Mrs watching Strictly in the lounge, the tumble dryer and washing machine running in the utility and the radio and oven on in the kitchen. The display was 15 minutes long and we only heard a few of the bigger bangs. The 8 year old quivered a bit and was a bit upset, as usual, but the 7 month old took no notice whatsoever, maybe we have a bomb-proof beardie at last. Google 'Betley bonfire', they're claiming possibly the largest bonfire in the country!!!

We dread this time of year as our dogs hate the noise. We used to breed lovebirds and although we left the lights on in their aviaries there would always be the idiots that let fireworks off weeks after 5th!November and we have found many a bird dead in their roosting boxes. Life would be so much kinder to the animals if people could only see fireworks at organised displays. Ellen.

Agree they should only be allowed for sales to organised events and via local authorities.

'Local authorities' couldn't organise a water sale in a drought, but how about the only source being fire brigades or services or fire extinguishing and preventative rescue corps or whatever the current PC title is?

We were down at Yellowcraigs for the last weekend of the year and over Friday night the explosions were so loud and powerful that even the caravan shook.
Luckily both our dogs are working cockers and just ignored the bangs.
