Hi Guys,

this is a sad but exciting day for us:confused:lol
today we sold our VW camper van, and being avid VW enthusiasts, have been left feeling sad, that said we are very excited, as we have decided to buy an Eriba troll, we have four daughters, a bit of a squish I hear you say, but believe me it will feel like a barn compared to how we have been camping for the last two years!!!!

all is not lost though as we have a vw t5 caravelle, and with a troll on the back how cool will that be !!! just can't wait till the summer now:cool:

any way just thought I would say hi, and hope that you won't get fed up with the copious amounts of questions I may have lol

cheers
Rob

Hi Rob and welcome to Eribafolk. A T5 and Troll? You'll be in good company here for there are a number of folk who tow their Eribas with VW buses of various descriptions.
Here's a photo of Blueyonder's combination:- g65p757-The-Silver-Dream-Machine.html
They have some great adventures with theirs. See also the Eriba Volks photo gallery
Have you found the Troll you want yet?

Hi Randa,
thank you for the welcome, we are hoping to go tomorrow and see a troll 540 gt, at a dealers not far from us, its going to be a new venture for us, and we have been looking at eribas for quite some time, so really looking forward to getting out in one. you probably know that vw enthusiasts have had an affair with pucks for many years, so it would be nice to fully integrate the vw and eriba scene by seeing more families use the larger models.

of the eriba enthusiasts that I have met over the last few years they seem to have a lot in common with those in the vw scene, pleasant friendly helpful, and above all put their love of interest way before the sensible practical decisions they should be making lol
cheers
Rob

Four daughters and an Eriba bathroom... wow!

We used to go everywhere, all over Europe with just the T5, but with an Eriba it's so much nicer when you're away more than a couple of nights. However, our 3 kids are grown up and left home..... although our daughter often comes with us - she even gatecrashed an Eribafolk Forum meet!

You're so right about the VW/Eriba communities, great stuff.

Now that's very interesting Rob because although I don't know how that awning performs, I was trawling around some French awning dealerships last week and came across this :- Clairval Abri Dome which is fairly widely distributed over there.
The reason I was interested is that we have a traditional shape Clairval Awning for our Troll which is sure to be at least 15 years old and the quality and performance is superb.
As AL seem to offer a range of awnings that mimic other Eriba awnings out there, I presume that they must be one and the same or at least made by the same manufacturers.

Hi Randa,
I am going to phone AL tomorrow and see if I can get some more info on this awning, I can't see from the photo if it is a mixture of canvas and poly, or just poly, which would be a shame, as they can get very noisy in the wind, and feel so much warmer when lightweight canvas,
cheers

What's also interesting is that both photos are identical and when I zoomed in on the AL photo, the awning is labelled as a KitOVent.

Hi There,

Hope you enjoy the extra space! We have a VW T2 and added a Puck as an extension. Its mostly occupied by our teenage son. It's a great combination and makes life much easier being able to park up set out the awning and we can drive away in the bus for days out.Took both to Lake Garda this summer for probably one of our best holidays ever.
