You can tell the weather's bad, I've been browsing the AL website.
Now I've owned two 540 Trolls and one of them was an '05. If you look at the one AL have for sale and track down to its third pic which shows the front nearside. Now what on earth is that vent doing breaking up the blue coachline, looking like a boil on a maiden's nose. From my knowledge of the 540's interior it's partially over the interior of the front open shelf thing and part over the rear of the nearside seat back. Later interior pics show no additional gear installed in that position that might connect to a vent and the list of fittings mentions nothing that might be there.
My only thought is that the van has been damaged and the vent fitted to cover the dent. Not very good camouflage as it might as well be a red flag. If it is damage then I'd have thought AL would repair before resale?

Yes I have had a look at you could actually miss that on the pictures. Once it has been pointed out it does stick out like a sore thumb that would do your head in if you bought that. It is one of them when ever you look at the troll your eyes would be drawn to the vent. That does require some attention as you have said should have been sorted before going on sale.

It has some rather nice black paintwork but I don't see a pimple,
Shame you didn't add a link Andy.

The door liner (inner) is very discoloured to? Ours is an 04 Troll and its nowhere near that colour, ours is open a lot to as we use it at home frequently for morning and afternoon cuppa's same internal colours as ours though, I do like the full width rear manouvering bar, but not the rear light housings

That's a "Special Editon" vent Andy.

Here's an AL photo of ours some years ago.

Ah but at least your vent has been lined up with the coachline, which makes it look like it's actually got a purpose and was meant to be.
I also notice that they have a couple of 540s in the 'in preparation' area with quantities of black vinyl added around the front. Not sure what that's all about as on at least one the stuff isn't where the thrown up muck goes. Introducing a non-original colour sort of pulls the eye away from the unified look of the van and, again, it's the only thing you see when you look at it.
